Noel Abas is a Syrian-American-born student studying Psychology with a concentration in Ethnic Studies and Women’s and Gender Studies. Noel’s work has primarily focused on serving, caregiving for others, and building relationships with those in her local community in Oklahoma. Noel is devoted to helping diversity thrive and the intersectionalities in each of our unique identities. She is passionate about the removal of oppressive systems which impact Muslim and historically marginalized groups. Noel is committed to promoting an authentic, peaceful, and progressive message of Islam rooted in truth, diversity, inclusion, and social justice. She is hopeful about educating non-Muslims and Muslims, bridging the gaps in misinformation, and building a stronger community. Noel aspires to become a Licensed Professional Counselor, providing a safe space for Muslims focused on mental health, well-being, and authenticity. In addition to her Syrian and Muslim background, her strong sense of compassion and empathy guides her work.
