imran kAREEM

Imran Kareem is a first generation American that was born in a blue collar and fairly conservative Muslim family.  Professionally, he’s a business executive.  Personally, he has a loving family with a beautiful wife of nearly 20 years, two kids, and a dog that some consider a small horse (he’s a lab/great dane).  Most would call him a fairly curious person and that’s manifested through his love for travel, fitness, and his spiritual journey.  Some would also call him a glutton for punishment as a lifelong Chicago Bears and White Sox fan.

Imran had been searching for a Muslim community that shared his values of being inclusive, progressive, and recognized being a “good Muslim” wasn’t based on how many passages you memorize or how you dress but it’s how we treat our fellow human beings no matter what their backgrounds may be.  It seemed so straight forward, yet so hard to find in the Muslim communities he was aware of, until he found MPV.  Imran decided to step into this role for no other reason than no one else it seemed in Chicago was willing and Ani essentially saying, “If you want to predict the future, invent it.”  Ultimately, his goal is to create a community that feels connected and welcoming to all.
