Salt of the Earth: Conversation with Osama Iliwat and Rotem Levin

  • Friends Meeting House 225 Rooney Street Santa Cruz, CA, 95065 United States (map)

Muslims for Progressive Values and The Temple of the Waters in Santa Cruz are deeply honored to be co-sponsoring an event hosting speakers Rotem Levin and Osama Iliwat, Israeli and Palestinian activists. Osama and Rotem are sharing their personal stories, the realities on the ground, and their vision for a path toward collective safety and liberation. You can learn more about them and their tour on their Instagram.

We would love for you to join us in welcoming these speakers.
Register below. You can also just show up without registering, but if you register it helps us generally keep track of how many people are coming:

We know that basically anything anyone says about this crisis brooks controversy, especially within the context of ongoing violence being inflicted on the people of Gaza, Israeli hostages still being held, settler violence in the West Bank, and many, many other ongoing impacts along with the shameful history of anti-Semitic violence in Europe and brutal European colonial impacts on the people of the Middle East. There’s a lot there for all of us. But regardless of where you fall on the spectrum of perspectives, or whether you ultimately agree with the approach of the speakers, we believe that hearing from people on the ground working together across differences will be thought-provoking and inspiring.

If you are interested in carpooling from the Bay Area, call 415-722-1581 and we will see if we can coordinate rides. We will try to get together after the event for some social time.
