At the end of 2013, MPV secured Consultative Status at the United Nations (UN) and ever since, recognition and support for MPV’s work has elevated to new levels.
UN LECTURE SERIES
MPV takes advantage of the UN’s capacity to bring many people together by organizing, sponsoring, and participating in events, such as panel discussions, meetings with UN Member States, debates, interactive dialogues, and the like.
OFFICIAL POSITIONS
MPV produces position papers to present its stances on key issues, for purposes related to advocacy and education.
HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL
As an integral facet of its Global Advocacy Campaign, MPV has been engaged with the UN Human Rights Council and its subsidiary bodies in Geneva to ensure that a progressive and inclusive Muslim voice is represented in this crucial international forum.
MPV YOUTH IN SUPPORT OF OHCHR
In support of the work of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, MPV seeks to raise greater awareness among Muslim youth in the West and in the Islamic world about OHCHR's work to protect human rights around the world.
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is a transformative plan for development that seeks to serve the planet, people, prosperity, and partnerships between different sectors of society by implementing 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
NGO COLLABORATION
Muslims for Progressive Values (MPV) collaborates with other human rights organizations on many fronts, such as by participating on committees and by supporting statements, open letters and petitions of other organizations.
