Hailing from Los Angeles, California, Chris Buckalew’s journey is a whirlwind of diverse experiences, resilience, growth, and a zest for building bridges in the community. 

Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree, and certificates in Construction Management and Engineering Management. He has recently embarked on a groundbreaking venture as the Founder of a dynamic Construction Management and Consulting firm specializing in comprehensive oversight and project management to guide and support property owners and stakeholders.He’s worn many hats in the past including roles in the EMS industry as an EMT, Paramedic, Field Supervisor of Operations, skills instructor for Mt. SAC Paramedic School, and a volunteer Firefighter.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Chris indulges in his love for motorcycles, sports cars, and workout sessions, while also finding solace in spending quality time with his family.

Chris’s journey to embracing Islam after a transformative awakening from a former life as a skinhead is a testament to his unwavering commitment to inclusivity, compassion, and personal growth.

Chris’s diverse experiences make him a champion for change. As the great Islamic poet and scholar Rumi once said, “Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.” Chris is driven by the vision of MPV to cultivate progressive Muslim communities and bridge the gap with other faith-based communities. He firmly believes in inclusivity and advocates for a world free from oppression, discrimination, and hate. With enthusiasm and dedication, he eagerly contributes to MPV's mission, echoing the wisdom of the Quranic verse, "Whoever saves a life, it is as if they have saved all of humanity."
